As the 9th Regional Community Defense Group, (9RCDG) of Reserve Command, Philippine Army continuously searches for new approaches to effectively develop the reserve forces in Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9) and Misamis Occidental (Region 10), the Commander, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, MGEN ROMULO A MANUEL JR during his visit to the RCDG Headquarters introduced new innovations and guidance for effective and efficient reserve force development. He advocates best practices in reserve force build up and development in order to prepare reservists for their legally mandated mission.
In training, his guidelines are geared towards effective integration of reserve forces to the regular force during mobilization. While relentlessly improving and capacitating the reserve force administrators through relevant enhancement programs, a responsive ROTC program was likewise conceptualized to prepare the RCDGs in their herculean role come the implementation of the mandatory ROTC program. Very essential in the performance of reservists and retiree affairs tasks of RESCOM, PA personnel is discipline which MGEN MANUEL considers as an important value every RRA administrator must possess.
9RCDG faces great challenges in addressing different issues and concerns under the new normal. The Unit gradually recovers from the ill-effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and continuously thriving and adapting to the changing environment. For calendar year 2023, 9RCDG has successfully executed its mandated tasks which are credited to the men and women of both organic and reservists with the strong support of the leadership of Reserve Command, Philippine Army.
These meritorious accomplishments can also be attributed to the unwavering support of the stakeholders who valued the contributions of the reserve force.
